The members of akzente offer language competence paired with top quality, experience and enthusiasm for Munich and the entire world.
Our interpreters are members of aiic, the international association of conference interpreters, which guarantees a high level of quality and professionalism.
However, during the preliminary discussion on the organization of the technical congress, the organizing team was asked to also consider speakers who simply feel more comfortable when they are able to speak in their mother tongue.
After all, many people do not speak as freely and spontaneously in the foreign language as they do in their own mother tongue. "Then you no longer say what you want, but only what you are able to.”
So now we need simultaneous interpreters for our congress. The organizing team does some research on the Internet and is lucky: quite high on the hit list is the website of a group of conference interpreters who are just right for specialist congresses - akzente sprachen.
Submitting an inquiry, establishing contact, obtaining a quotation – the entire process is handled in a very swift and professional manner.
And the organizing team learns that the interpreting team prepares very meticulously for the technical subject matter and therefore depends on abstracts or even already prepared speeches made available at an early stage. The time required for preparation is already included in the fee. Cool.
Since the majority of the participants can now express themselves in their native language during the event, the papers and discussions are very lively and spontaneous - in short: an all-out success, also thanks to the services of the akzente interpreting team.
Looking forward to next year!
Currently, Covid-19 causes many congresses, events and conferences to be cancelled. Many organizers, however, are not aware of the fact that the first professional technical solutions for remote interpreting are already on the market. In addition to all kinds of software-based services, such as Soft Consoles and classic video conferencing systems, the first state-of-the-art point-to-point solutions are now available. These include studios or hubs with dedicated Internet connections, interpreting desks and high-quality audio and video equipment that offer the best possible quality. All technical requirements for this technology are laid down in the brand new ISO standard published on 15.1.2020.
Covid-19: no reason at all to do without professional communication and interpretation.
And now, Jan from the IR department has to help organizing the Annual General Meeting. Since the AGM has to be held in German due to legal reasons and some members of the international Supervisory Board do not have a sufficient command of German, a team of simultaneous interpreters is to be recruited.
Jan does some research in the web and is lucky: quite high up on the hit list, he finds the website of a group of conference interpreters whom he wishes to contact - akzente sprachen.
Submitting a request for a quote, establishing the contact and the preparation of a quotation – everything is taken care of swiftly.
akzente very often organizes interpreting teams for annual general meetings or creditor meetings and can therefore draw on a large pool of excellent colleagues throughout Germany.
akzente asks for annual reports, quarterly reports, ad hoc announcements and many more documents .... Working through this documentation is very important for the interpreters to prepare properly for the AGM, and the time required is already included in the fee. Cool.
To make a long story short: the AGM runs smoothly - also thanks to the services of the akzente interpreting team. In the late afternoon, the chairman of the meeting says goodbye to the shareholders and wishes everyone a safe journey home.
Looking forward to next year!
The interpreters of akzente sprachen are publicly appointed and sworn in by the President of the Munich Regional Court.
The German Stock Corporation Act requires transparency from a listed company, and so investor relations and our event management team must, among other things, also set up an annual results press conference. Our company is doing very well internationally, so small wonder that journalists from abroad are also registering for the press conference this year.
How do we ensure smooth communication? Isabel from Event Management still has got the contact details of akzente sprachen from the time she organized an interpreting team for another event.
She submits her enquiry via the contact form. Contact, offer, consultation and placing of order – everything works smoothly.
Isabel is surprised at how much time and effort the interpreters put into preparing for the event.
But this is all right with her - they don't charge an extra fee for it, the time spent preparing for the conference is already covered by the interpreting fee.
The annual results press conference is a complete success. The communication between the participants went smoothly.
Isabel is happy to have made the right choice.
"Oh yes, we still need the written translation of this document into the various languages we need!"
Sarah doesn't really know how to organize that, but at least she has still got the contact details of akzente sprachen from the last supervisory board meeting. Interpretation had worked out really well, perhaps akzente can also help with written translations?
Yes, they can;-)
It often makes sense to have the documents for an event translated in advance by the interpreting team.
akzente will then either translate the documents themselves or have them translated by skilled and experienced colleagues, or at least tell the customer who to turn to.
Sarah breathes a sigh of relief: "Very nice - check.”
A European project is going to be kicked off. The project participants come from five different EU countries, and the event organization team decides that at least the major joint events should not be handled in English alone, but with all five languages.
So we need simultaneous interpreters, and it would be best to have the entire team recruited from a single source.
On the Internet we come across the akzente sprachen website. This means that we have found a single contact for the entire interpreting team, who also takes care of concluding sub-contracts with the interpreters, forwarding documents to the team, looking after the interpreting team during the event(s) right through to invoicing.
The akzente interpreters sit in the simultaneous booth themselves and know exactly who of their colleagues is suitable for which language combination and which technical topics.
The use of interpreting booths is indispensable, especially when all the language combinations have to work across the board. Because not every interpreter can interpret from all languages into all other languages, but often uses the so-called relay function on the interpreter's desk. If, for example, the English interpreter cannot interpret directly from Slovak into English, but can do so from German, he simply uses the relay function to listen to the interpreted German version and uses it as the basis for his interpretation into English.
To ensure that all this works reliably, the coordinating interpreter accompanies the project team from the preparation of the quotation through to invoicing and takes care of all aspects relating to the interpretation.
Perfect :-)
However, during the preliminary discussion on the organization of the expert symposion, the organizing team was asked to also consider speakers who simply feel more comfortable when they are able to speak in their mother tongue.
After all, many people do not speak as freely and spontaneously in the foreign language as they do in their own mother tongue. "Then you no longer say what you want, but only what you are able to.”
So now we need simultaneous interpreters for our symposion. The organizing team does some research on the Internet and is lucky: quite high on the hit list is the website of a group of conference interpreters who are just right for our symposion - akzente sprachen.

The electronics trade fair is coming up. Our start-up would like to take the opportunity to present its new products to an international audience at an event on its own stand.
It quickly becomes clear that the product innovations at this high-tech fair must also be presented in a professional way that is precise and easy to understand for foreign visitors.
So, what do we need?
John already worked with professional simultaneous interpreters in his former company and proposes this as a solution for the language dilemma. The team finds akzente sprachen's website on the Internet.
Preparing a quote and recruiting interpreters for the team are handled smoothly from a single source. akzente can also help with conference technology.
Very nice - so we can tick this off on our list.
"Julia, please call akzente, we need interpreters!" The foundation has just been given the go-ahead for a delegation to travel to Bavaria. The budget has also been approved! The foundation team is happy, and now we need to start with the detailed planning. The members of the delegation are representatives of foreign governments, universities and consumer associations. They are going to discuss economic cooperation, environmental protection and sustainability. In Bavaria, the guests will learn about best practices, state-of-the-art methods and innovative technologies. This also includes excursions to various cities and company visits.
Fortunately, the foundation already knows the akzente team. In the past, such delegation visits were interpreted consecutively. Since the time the foundation started to cooperate with akzente, they have relied on a tour-guide system, which allows for mobile simultaneous interpreting. The benefits are obvious: the participants can now make better use of their time as they are able to schedule more visits and talks in a single day. A real added value!
Competent, professional and reliable - it's nice to know that akzente will take good care of all our interpreting needs.
However, during the preliminary discussion on the organization of the meeting, the organizing team was asked to also consider speakers who simply feel more comfortable when they are able to speak in their mother tongue.
After all, many people do not speak as freely and spontaneously in the foreign language as they do in their own mother tongue. "Then you no longer say what you want, but only what you are able to.”

And the organizing team learns that the interpreting team prepares very meticulously for the subject matter at hand and therefore depends on presentations or even already prepared speeches being made available at an early stage. The time required for preparation is already included in the fee. Cool.
Since the majority of the participants can now express themselves in their native language during the event, the papers and discussions are very lively and spontaneous - in short: an all-out success, also thanks to the services of the akzente interpreting team.
Actually, Max loves his job at the TV station. In the production of talk shows, round tables and similar formats, he can contribute his creativity and organizational talent and develop himself further. This job is always challenging, but today there is a lot of activity: in a few days the new live show, which has been planned for weeks, goes on air. At the last minute, guests from abroad were invited. Max has already organized the pick-up at the airport, the hotel rooms and the shuttle to the TV station.
But communication is a headache! You need translators - or interpreters, oh yes, synchronous interpreters, no, simultaneous interpreters. Exactly. Best thing is to google. Aha, akzente sprachen: beautiful photos, cool website, lots of experience!
Max calls immediately. His contact at akzente knows her stuff. She asks the right questions and has everything in view. Now Max can relax. He receives an offer that covers everything: accompanying the guests, simultaneous interpreting during the broadcast and translation of documents. He can even hear the interpreters' voices in advance: professional and pleasant.
The show turns out to be a big success! Max is proud of his work and his boss is happy!
Veronica hangs up the phone. It is shortly before 5 p.m. A supervisory board meeting is scheduled for next week, and she is supposed to quickly organize interpreters.
International shareholders are now represented on the Supervisory Board, and interpreters are needed to ensure that communication during the next meeting is reliable and correct.
And now? Where can I find interpreters? Who do I turn to? Who is reliable and who is not? Who offers quality? After all, a supervisory board meeting is no walk in the park. Who guarantees confidentiality? What else do I have to consider?
All these questions go through Veronica's head as she starts googling. Boy, there are a lot of offers there. Who would be suitable?
What Veronica does not know is that professional interpreters are organized in aiic, the international conference interpreters' association. They generally work as freelancers and are not employed by agencies. Thanks to their membership in the association, however, they are well networked internationally and nationally and also organize interpreting teams including the required technical equipment for a wide range of events and languages. The direct line to the interpreter guarantees that the interpreters best suited to the project are recruited.
Veronica is lucky. She finds the website of akzente sprachen quite high up on the hit list. There she immediately finds what is important to her: professionalism, expertise, experience and confidentiality.
She submits her enquiry via the contact form. Contact, offer, consultation and placing of order run smooth and are uncomplicated.
Veronica is surprised at how much time and effort the interpreters have already put into the preparation. But this is all right with her - they don't charge an extra fee for it, the effort for the preparation is already covered by the interpreting fee.
The Supervisory Board meeting is a complete success. The communication between the participants went smoothly.
Veronica is happy to have made the right choice

This is going to be huge! This year's Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to a famous Hollywood star - and she has already confirmed her attendance!
Working in the organiser's team is a huge honour for Jonna. During the preparatory meeting, the team soon starts discussing the question of how to ensure communication during the event. How about simultaneous interpreting? How does this work?
After all, the star from Hollywood should be able to follow everything that is being said, especially of course the speech held in her honour preceding the presentation of the award! And of course the speech of thanks that follows should also be interpreted for the audience.
The team instantly agrees – professional simultaneous interpreters are needed!
Jonna does some research and starts googling. She finds a website with professional simultaneous interpreters - akzente sprachen.
Jonna submits an inquiry and quickly realizes that the contact person at akzente is a professional all round. She asks the right questions and has everything under control. The offer covers everything that needs to be considered for the interpreting job.
At the evening of the award ceremony, everything is going according to plan - the famous guest is happy that communication works so smoothly; everyone is satisfied, and Jonna receives a great deal of praise!
The event management team is in a flurry of excitement. So far, the management conference has been relatively easy to organize, but the company has grown and is expanding rapidly.
Therefore, this time the partners and managers from abroad will also be invited to the conference.
How about interpreters? This service should, however, not cause too much work - after all, the capacities in the event management team are not infinite.
The aim is to find somebody who will take care of everything that concerns interpretation.
Stephanie from the event team knows akzente sprachen from her previous job - they are simultaneous interpreters.
One e-mail is all it takes. akzente is brought on board at an early stage and provides valuable and cost-saving input for the organization of the interpreting side of the event, advises on team strength and the conference technology required.
akzente knows where best to set up the booths, which documents for preparation will ensure optimum interpreting, and much more.
So, just as the event team had envisaged: at akzente, from offers through to billing - everything comes from a single source.
"If you want a wise answer, ask a reasonable question." (Johann Wolfgang v. Goethe)
When an interview is conducted, a journalist and a prominent personality usually sit opposite each other. There are plenty of tips for successful interviews in the web. Journalist Ulrike Bremm, who has interviewed many politicians, actors and athletes, writes on her website: "When I conduct an interview, I see myself as a mediator between the celebrities and their fans - and each interview is tailored to the fans who read the magazine for which the current interview is conducted. Surely a successful interview requires intensive preparation, empathy and the courage to approach people and ask the right questions.
If the interviewer and the interviewee don't speak the same language, then we are brought in as interpreters. We also see ourselves as mediators between the actors, we prepare ourselves intensively for an assignment and are not afraid of big names. With our experience and expertise, we make it possible for our customers to talk to each other, almost without realising that we are there.
You've seen it in the papers - these class actions in America.
Until now, our own company was not affected by this, but now we are also active on the American market and have to face up to a class action.
As part of their "pre-trial discovery", the American plaintiffs propose to meet on European soil for out-of-court witness hearings, i.e. "depositions". But are our company representatives really so fluent in the foreign language that they will manage these depositions without help? Perhaps it is better to use interpreters?
On the internet, the legal department finds akzente sprachen's website - and lo and behold: the ladies of akzente sprachen offer many years of experience in the field of interpreting depositions.
So we are in good hands!
Thanks to its innovative range of products, our company has been growing continuously for years. And this year, the plan is not just to grow organically but also by means of acquiring other businesses. The first company takeover is about to be completed and our IR and PR departments plan to announce the takeover at a press conference for international media representatives.
If only it weren't for the language issue...
Everyone dares to answer in English in a direct conversation, but the presentation at the press conference should be absolutely professional.
The department is also considering whether the media representatives from other countries should be able to listen to the presentation in their own mother tongue.
In short - simultaneous interpreters are what is needed!
Alex from the organising team is entrusted with the task of obtaining offers for interpreters and conference technology. Well, let's ask Mr. Google.
Not bad, quite high on the hit list is the website of a team of simultaneous interpreters who offer great professionalism and experience - akzente sprachen.
Let's try that out, Alex thinks, and immediately sends his request by e-mail.
Submitting an inquiry, establishing contact, obtaining a quotation – the entire process is handled in a very swift and professional manner.
And Alex learns that the interpreting team prepares very meticulously for the technical subject matter and therefore depends not only on the Powerpoint presentation being made available for preparation before the event but also further information about the company, market and competitive environment. And what’s more: the time required for preparation is already included in the fee. Cool.
Since the media representatives can express themselves in their own native language during the event, the press conference runs very smoothly and dynamically - in short: an all-out success, also thanks to the services of akzente's interpreting team.
The new product is mega successful!
To present this sales hit appropriately, the marketing and PR departments are considering organizing a product presentation for international media representatives.
If only it weren't for the language issue...Everyone dares to answer in English in a direct conversation, but the product presentation should be absolutely professional.
The marketing and IR departments are also considering whether the media representatives from other countries should be able to listen to the presentation in their own mother tongue. In short - simultaneous interpreters are what is needed!

For the hearing next week at the regional court in a patent infringement suit, everything had actually already been perfectly organized. At the last minute, however, the client's US patent attorneys decided to attend to follow the exact course of the proceedings.
Peter is at first perplexed, but then remembers a case in which simultaneous interpreters interpreted a hearing for the foreign partner attorneys using whispering equipment, almost silent and not disturbing at all.
He immediately turns to the colleague in the firm responsible at the time and receives the contact details for akzente sprachen.
From now on everything goes very smoothly: akzente sprachen's interpreters are all professionals, some of whom work at the European Patent Office, the Regional and Higher Regional Courts, the German Federal Patent Court and the German Federal Court of Justice and have therefore built up a wide network of contacts. Because indeed technical knowledge alone is not enough for such a special assignment; knowledge of patent law and its very special terminology is equally required.
Peter also learns that simultaneous interpreters are organized in aiic, the International Association of Conference Interpreters, the only association with the strictest admission criteria that guarantees professionalism and quality. And he learns that even for a fairly very short hearing of a bit more than 1 hour, two interpreters are absolutely necessary, as the density of information and the degree of difficulty in court are enormously high.
Peter immediately feels that he is in very good hands. The interpreters have requested the entire correspondence between the parties and the court together with all relevant documents from the state of the art to prepare themselves for the hearing. And what’s more - the team of interpreters will also take care of the interpreting equipment.
On the day of the hearing, everything is running smoothly. The US colleagues were able to follow the proceedings without any problems whatsoever and were extremely satisfied.
Currently 28 member states with 23 official languages: Multilingualism is firmly rooted in the EU institutions as a defined goal. However, English is increasingly becoming a lingua franca. If you wish to speak effectively and convincingly, it is preferable to use your mother tongue. As Nelson Mandela said: "If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart."
We believe in a good communication!
DIRECTIVE 2009/38/EC OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 6 May 2009 on the establishment of a European Works Council or a procedure in Community-scale undertakings and Community-scale groups of undertakings for the purposes of informing and consulting employees
Annex 1 (6)
[...] In particular, the cost of organising meetings and arranging for interpretation facilities and the accommodation and travelling expenses of members of the European Works Council and its select committee shall be met by the central management [...]
Now that our company is active throughout the EU in various member states and a European Works Council has been established, Nina from the Human Resources Department has been entrusted with the task of organising future EWC meetings together with the Works Council. This also includes the recruiting of interpreters since employee representatives and management from different countries have to understand each other.
"Are we now supposed to find interpreters for each national language on our own?," Nina broods. "Or are there solutions with entire interpreting teams from a single source?
Nina starts to do some research in the web. Not bad, quite high on the hit list is the website of a team of simultaneous interpreters who offer great professionalism and experience - akzente sprachen.
Submitting an inquiry, establishing contact, obtaining a quotation – the entire process is handled in a very swift and professional manner.

The atmosphere at the EWC meeting is good, as the employee representatives can express themselves in their native language - thanks to the services of akzente's team of interpreters.

Thanks to the latest RSI technology (Remote Simultaneous Interpreting), you can also offer interpreting into various languages, for examply by using the interpreting features offered by Zoom. Car manufacturer XY is planning very special events for the new IAA - after all, the motor show is being designed on the basis of a completely new concept. On the one hand, there will be on-site participants in the so-called Summit Area, but on the other hand, the press department also plans to reach out to all the international participants who might prefer to follow the event remotely and stay in their own country because of Covid-19.
Thorsten is in charge of designing the concept for the individual events, which are to be held in a hybrid format - produced both for the on-site guests and live-streamed to participants all over the world.
But there is a language problem to be solved. At previous IAAs, simultaneous interpreters were often used, why not now? Thorsten starts doing some research on the internet and comes across the website of akzente sprachen.
He submits his inquiry via the contact form. Contact, offer, consultation and placing the order - everything works smoothly. After all, the simultaneous interpreters at akzente sprachen can rely on years of experience with interpreting assignments in the automotive industry.
Thorsten is surprised at how much time and effort the interpreters put into preparing for the event. But that is all right with him – they do not charge an extra fee for it, the time spent preparing for the events is already covered by the interpreting fee.
Thorsten is very happy. Since the interpreting issue has now been resolved so well, he can hardly wait for the IAA Mobility trade show to start.
Everyone had hoped that the Annual General Meeting could be held as an in-person event this year but as before Covid-19 is throwing a spanner in the works.
The AGM has to be held in German due to legal reasons, however, some members of the international Supervisory Board and some international shareholders do not have a sufficient command of German. Moreover, the IR team hopes that some international analysts and journalists may also register for the AGM. Therefore the decision is taken to livestream both the AGM proceedings in German and the interpretation into English. At least the speeches of the CEO and CFO should also be available as a webcast on the company’s website later on.
Pia and Antonio are tasked with searching for a suitable team of simultaneous interpreters. They are lucky: quite high up on the hit list, they find the website of a group of conference interpreters whom they wish to contact – akzente sprachen.
Submitting a request for a quote, establishing the contact and the preparation of a quotation – everything is taken care of swiftly.
akzente very often organizes interpreting teams for annual general meetings or creditor meetings and can therefore draw on a large pool of excellent colleagues throughout Germany.
akzente asks for annual reports, quarterly reports, ad hoc announcements and many more documents. Working through this documentation is very important for the interpreters to prepare properly for the AGM, and the time required is already included in the fee. Cool.
Furthermore, akzente points out that it is only possible to use the interpreted version (e.g. through a webcast or a recording that can be accessed on the Internet or Intranet) once the simultaneous interpreters have given their consent. Due to the provisions of copyright law as well as the World Copyright Convention, an additional fee is charged for any such use of the interpreted version.
Great – it is good to know that this issue could be settled right in advance so that no legal difficulties can arise from this.
To make a long story short: the AGM runs smoothly – also thanks to the services of the akzente interpreting team. In the early afternoon, the chairperson of the meeting says goodbye to the shareholders and those involved, hoping to see everyone again in person next year.
